Oregon School Website Award

Rewarding Excellence in Public School Website Design

For school year 2001-2002


The Oregon School Website Award contest is open to all public Oregon schools, k-12. Cash prizes up to $1,000.00 for each school will be awarded to those with winning website entries. Students will be designing and implementing their own school websites, and will be recognized and rewarded for their hard work.

Each Website will be evaluated based on its excellence of design, and the value of its educational content, following these five criteria:
  • Website Design
  • Website Functionality
  • Local Science Content
  • Community Outreach
  • Archive Plan

This Award is sponsored by Oregon Websites and Watersheds Project, Inc., and the Friends of Paul Bunyan Foundation.

Oregon Websites and Watersheds Project Inc. (ORWW) is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation whose aim is to provide educational opportunities for Oregon students through a series of projects using a combination of Internet technology and scientific methodology. ORWW is orchestrating this contest as an extension of its LYNX project, which revolves around a website containing a complete database of Oregon schools, detailed information on past and current ORWW projects, and other related environmental and educational links.
