Thank You! To everyone who voted. The PEAS Awards Ceremony took place on Friday
June 6 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. For a moment-by-moment description of the cermonies check out

We leave you with the 18 entries. As of Midnight on Thursday, June 5th we had received
117 votes! Votes were tabulated and the results were announced on Friday, June
6th at the PEAS Awards Ceremony. You can see the results at the
Peas Top 10 Results page.
We have left you with the original entries and summary of the contest so that you can
see what it was all about.
The entries on this page were submitted to this contest in accordance
with the rules given on the Top 10 List Contest entry page. Finaly entries
have already been submitted. Here is a quick summary of the contest:
- The
PEAS Top 10 List contest provides an opportunity for students from
participating schools to become involved in the PEAS project. The
PEAS Top Ten List asks students to respond to the question, Why is this project
named "PEAS?"
- The contest is based on the popular "Top Ten List" presented on the
television show "Late Night with David Letterman."
- Winners are decided in the following manner:
- A first place vote is worth 10 points.
- A second place vote is worth 9 points, and so forth.
- Total points for each entry will be summed. The entry with the most points will
be the winner. The entry with the next highest number of points will be second, and
so forth for the first top ten entries.
- In all cases (except one which was cleared up via e-mail) when the same person submitted
more than one vote the second entry submitted was used.
- We encourage you to vote for your favorite entries since the top ten winners
will receive
- Prizes will be provided by our sponsers and will include a
computer,
gift certificates,
computer software,
a digital camera and more!
Contest winners will be posted on the PEAS
Top 10 Contest Winners Page on June 7th, 1997 after the
PEAS awards dinner to be held in the Philomath
High School gym this coming Friday, June 6th at 7:00 PM. Contest winners will
also be announced on the PEAS Awards Ceremony page
during the event.
