Pickett Butte is located in Section 29, Tsp._30 S., Rng. 1 W. The Lookout is located within the Jackson Creek subbasin of the South Umpqua River drainage. The Pickett Butte Area was selected as an "Area of Special Interest" for the Upper South Umpqua Headwaters Precontact Reference Study.
